We are Anneke and George Leenders and have over 40 years of experience in the 4x4 sport.
George grew up in Overschie under the smoke of Rotterdam. After studying electronics and later information technology and graphic design, I started my own business with Anneke in 1986 in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) for medium and small businesses in Oosterhout, Netherlands.
We sold this business in 2006 and moved to Spain. We still have a home in Oosterhout, where we retreat when it gets too hot in Spain. In the Netherlands and Spain, I have held various administrative positions, including chairman and secretary in the business and private sectors.
I was also a coordinator at the Petanca Club of a Dutch Association in Spain and a guide for my own Hiking Club "Sjors en Sjimmie". I also work two days a week for individuals with automation problems.
The 4x4 virus has been with me (with fluctuations) for over 40 years. It started with a 4x4 Suzi Samurai and later also a real Willys Jeep from the army. With the Suzi, I was invited by the dealer for fun off-road rides on the Euro-Circuit in Valkenswaard. I also had a 4x4 Mitsu L200 pick-up after my Suzi. With my Willys and with the 4x4 Club "de Warhorses" we have had many fun moments and rides on army bases. Over 35 years ago, I obtained a certificate for 4x4 technology on the Maasvlakte. Since 2008, I have been driving with my friend Peter Berm in Spain and since 2014 with my Anneke.
In 2014, I took over the club 4x4 EspaƱa and worked there for 10 years as Road-, Travel-, and Penningmaster. We have set out and driven many tracks in Spain, Morocco, and Portugal, and we thoroughly enjoy the beautiful rides and fantastic nature. Oh, and I'm also the webmaster of the website.
I would like to use my enthusiasm and experience for our SxS & 4x4 club.
